CLAN Ministry Team 2008

Invitation to Join the Ministry Team

A key value of the CLAN Gathering leadership is the desire to make available prayer ministry in the power of the Holy Spirit to conference delegates.  The ministry team serving the conference performs a vital and valuable part of this process, since we believe Jesus wants to use all believers in His healing and blessing ministry through the flow of the gifts of the Spirit.  And as the number of conference delegates increase, it is important the ministry team grows to suit.

We invite therefore any believer who has a desire to bless others, is willing to learn, and wants to be a channel of the love of the Holy Spirit manifesting His gifts through them, to apply to be part of the ministry team.  If you can join us, you will find it is a richly rewarding experience as you see the Lord touching, healing and blessing people.

Application

If you wish to apply to be part of the Ministry Team at CLAN Gathering, we welcome you and ask that you please read the details below so that you know something of the commitment that we are asking of ministry team members.  Then please print out and complete the Ministry Team Application Form including your Church leader’s signature and return it to the address detailed.

Outline of the Role

What do I need to do to be on the Ministry team?

-     First of all you don’t need to have any experience, but you do need to be prepared to learn and receive some training.

-     You need to be open to being coached by your section leaders and to have a teachable spirit.

-     You need to be prepared to work under the authority of the CLAN leadership, the Ministry Team Overseers and the section leaders and to follow the Adult Ministry Guidelines.

-     Preferably, you will have been on a New Wine Scotland Training Day during the last two years. (See “News” section for 2008 training day dates and locations)

-     We ask that you read ‘Developing a Healing Ministry, A Training Manual for Churches’ by John Coles, published by New Wine, price £3.50.  Copies are available from the CLAN office or www.newwinedirect.co.uk .

-     You need to complete and return an application form which includes an endorsement from your church leader

When will I be asked to minister?

Ministry Team members are asked to be available to minister all the evening sessions during the week.  In addition most of the seminars require a ministry team to be available. There are also two afternoon sessions (2.00pm to 3.30pm) where all CLAN teams are able to receive from God and to rest in His presence.  There may be other requests for ministry team as well.

Ministry Team Leaders

The ministry team leaders are Steve and Angela Boler from St Peter’s and St Andrew’s Church of Scotland in Thurso.  They will be supported in leading the growing team by Bob and Sandie Kerr from the Almond Vineyard (Edinburgh) and Robert and Cathy Scott from Callander Kirk.  They will also be assisted by section leaders with suitable gifting and experience who will oversee teams of around 12-15 people.  Your Section Leaders may, if there is time before CLAN 2008, contact you and invite you to meet for prayer and fellowship with your team section if you live near enough to join them.

Responsibility and Accountability

It is important that ministry is undertaken responsibly and with accountability.  Therefore the Ministry team leadership is responsible to Rick Hayes and the CLAN leadership team, and all team members will be accountable through their Section Leaders.

Team Meetings

In order to give guidance and briefing for each day of the conference and provide opportunity to minister to one another and develop the team sections, there are daily team meetings (5.30 pm Saturday, 5.45 pm Sunday to Friday).  The meeting on Saturday is compulsory.  We would strongly encourage you to attend all the meetings though we do recognise that you may have family and other commitments, so we ask you to attend the meetings on Saturday, Sunday, Thursday and Friday as a priority.

Please keep your section leader informed if you have to miss a meeting.

There will be mandatory training at CLAN on Sunday morning at 9.30 for those new to ministering and those who have not been on a training day in 2006 or 2007.  It is also open to those who would like to have some reminders of how we see CLAN prayer ministry developing.

Training and Equipping for Ministry

There will be a number of training days arranged suitable both for those wishing to be equipped for this valuable ministry for the first time and those who would value a refresher or consolidation of previous experience.

Topics covered will be: The Kingdom of God, The Ministry of Jesus, Spiritual Gifts and A Model for Ministry.  Opportunity will be given both to put the training into practice and to receive prayer ministry for yourself.

Watch the news page for details of the training days as they are arranged.

CLAN 2008 Ministry Team Application - Closure Date

Please note that your completed Ministry Team Application Form (2008 form will be here as soon as available, use the 2007 form if you can't wait) will need to arrive at the CLAN office no later than 25th June to be accepted (earlier would be appreciated).  Beyond that date and at CLAN itself no applications will be received.

We are sure you will find being part of the ministry team a rewarding experience and we know that the Holy Spirit will honour you in giving yourself and your time so that others might receive from Him.
